Did you think there was only one?

The Texas bill

A bill is being considered by the great state of Texas legislature which would require the Ten Commandments to be displayed in every classroom. The bill has been approved by the Senate and will now go to the House of Representatives for approval. it is likely to be signed into law.

Senate Bill 1515, authored by state Sen. Phil King, a Republican, requires the Ten Commandments to be displayed in a “conspicuous place” in each classroom in a “size and typeface that is legible to a person with average vision from anywhere in the classroom.”(CNN, April 22, 2023)

I have so many questions about this, but I am not a resident of Texas and am not Christian. I was raised Catholic, so I am a distant, but interested, observer.

Just a few of my many questions

Does Mr. King (no relation) think that having the Ten Commandments prominently posted will stop the next school shooter?

What about the many Jewish, Catholic, Muslim, or Buddhist children? Will the Commandments be consistent with their beliefs? What if they are not?

Whose version of the Ten Commandments?
