The Family that Riots together, get sentenced together
The Texas Munns are the only family sentenced for participating in the January 6 attack on the Capitol.

Mom, Dawn, and Dad, Tom, have eight children. They moved to the Texas Panhandle town of Borger from Wisconsin in 2017. They were seeking a more conservative and Christian community that did not have multi-gender bathrooms. Most of the time, they lived on Dawn’s income as a vocational nurse. The words “Trump Won” were scrawled on the wall of their house.

The Munns settled into their new life in Texas and managed to buy a house. The children all went to school. Tom was active on Facebook and a devout follower of Donald Trump and far-right groups. On Dec. 28, 2020, he wrote on Facebook, “Our President has only asked two things from us, so far . . . #1 Vote #2 January 6, 2021.”
Like many residents of the staunchly Republican town, he was stunned when Trump lost the 2020 election.
