Google Keep’s Powerful Search
I’m a huge fan of Google Keep and have written about it before here. Keep is far more than a bunch of “sticky notes” or “simple lists” as it is sometimes described. The fact that it is 100% free is an added bonus. Keep is included in the suite of Google applications, along with Docs and Sheets.
If you’re not familiar with it, this is a good overview.
One interesting fact about Keep is (sit down before reading) that it doesn’t have folders or notebooks, and NO SORTING FUNCTIONALITY AT ALL. That’s right, no sorting by created date, edited date, or title. Nothing. But once you start using Keep, you realize you don’t need those features because the searches are so powerful. They are, after all, the Great Google.
Main search bar
The main Search bar is visible in every view.
This is the broadest search and best used if you’re searching for a unique word. If, for example, I searched for the word “book,” the results would include any note with the word “book” in it, including in the URL.
Going through all the results would be time-consuming. It’s more efficient to refine your search, and there are numerous ways to do that.
