Ron is definitely a piece of work. As a Democrat living in Florida, I am well aware of his impact. I think he is far more dangerous than bombastic tyrants like Trump. Non-Floridians are so busy making fun of him, they don’t see the danger lurking right in plain sight.

I don’t see much mention of DeSantis’ age in the media, but he is only 44. He is the third youngest governor after Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Jared Polis. Think about that. He is the first Generation X governor and the youngest Florida governor in 100 years. Biden, Trump, and the many other Boomers in national politics are at, or close to, retirement age. DeSantis brings a fresh, very conservative perspective, fueled by the energy of youth.
Should he decide to make a career in politics, DeSantis could have at least 25–30 years in various offices. That’s a lot of time in which to have an impact…
